World Games Chengdu: Denisa & Alicia strike gold for Uukha!
Claudia Noemi Carcacha and Aurélie Autret proudly represented our brand at the World Games in Chengdu, but the biggest performances came from Denisa Barankova in recurve and Alicia Baumert in barebow.
We had four ambassadors competing in Chengdu:
- Claudia Noemi and Alicia in barebow
- Aurélie and Denisa in recurve
Out of four possible gold medals (including the men’s events), our archers pulled off a real heist — bringing home two titles!
The Slovak anthem rang out in Chengdu!
As for Aurélie Autret, she fought hard and earned a solid 9th place finish in this world-class competition.
As for Denisa Barankova, she was simply outstanding, starting right from the qualifiers with an impressive 370.
Straight into the semifinals, she knocked out Italian archer Roberta Di Francisco before securing the win in the final against a very familiar face for our Squirrel family - Italy’s Chiara Rebagliati, who shot under our colors a few years ago.
This victory came just four months after she received her full set-up with the Xpro3 riser and Omega limbs. But as she put it herself:
"I’m someone who doesn’t like change and I’d been shooting Hoyt for years, but since switching to the Xpro3 and Omega, everything has changed! Smoothness, stability, speed - it’s on another level, and it even gave me extra confidence on the shooting line!"
And it was that little extra - just two points - that allowed Denisa to claim the most important title of her young career.

A title that we know is just the first of many more to come!

A Title at Her First World Games
Claudia Noemi Carcacha, the reigning World Vice-Champion, was unable to stand out this time in an exceptionally competitive field!
But what can we say about Alicia Baumert’s performance!
Our ambassador was outstanding - delivering controlled qualifications that earned her a direct spot in semifinals.
The apocalyptic weather was anything but kind to her - especially in the semifinal against the reigning World Champion from USA!
Torrential rain, thunderstorms, even an interruption… nothing could shake our archer’s focus. With her Xpro3/Omega setup, she powered through and secured her place in final!

Her opponent for the final step: Italian archer Cinzia Noziglia, a true legend of the discipline and double World Games titleholder.
But Cinzia could do nothing against Alicia, who dominated the final from start to finish! A decisive score: 50–43.
A radiant Alicia at the moment of her victory… for her very first participation in the World Games.
A title with an Olympic flavor for this discipline!
