Telethon: 5,018 arrows in 24 hours - Philippe Massy’s challenge, Uukha put to the test
Last weekend, during Telethon fundraising event, Philippe Massy, captain of Compagnie d’Arc des Archers d’Étampes, took on an extraordinary challenge: attempting to break his own record for the number of arrows shot in 24 hours.
An unusual request… and impossible to refuse
A few months ago, we received an unexpected message…
Philippe was looking for a partner to join him in a crazy project: shooting more than 8,000 arrows in 24 hours, at a rate of one arrow every 10 seconds, to raise as many donations as possible for medical research during the 39th edition of Telethon.
To maintain such a pace, he needed a bow that was reliable, stable, lightweight, and able to withstand thousands of shots without shifting.
Our brand — and our technology — quickly became the obvious choice. And since he wanted 100% French-made equipment, the story had already begun to write itself.
A noble cause, a monumental challenge — of course, we said yes!
First tests: instant sensations
Upon receiving the bow, Philippe contacted french grip maker, E=Cap Archerie, to have a custom grip made, in order to avoid the painful friction he had experienced in the past.
Very quickly, he shared his first impressions with us:
“Incredible comfort, almost no vibration, and a surprisingly smooth shot, despite the 36# I’ll have to repeat for 24 hours straight.”

D-Day: a perfect start… then an unexpected obstacle
Everything begins strong: steady, accurate, Philippe fires arrow after arrow. He was on track for over 9,000 arrows.
But after several hours, a pain appears - a nerve gets pinched.
He keeps going, gritting his teeth, but the pace slows down.
After nearly 20 hours of shooting, an osteopath finally steps in to help relieve the pain.
And suddenly, things get much better. Much better.
Philippe picks up again… at one arrow every 6 to 8 seconds (!), and finishes the last four hours as if they were the first!
5,018 arrows - more than three per minute, for 24 hours.
The record didn’t fall this time, but the performance remains extraordinary.
The next day, Philippe shared this with us:
“Thank you and congratulations to the entire team for this little gem.
This French-made equipment is simply phenomenal. Its lightness and shooting comfort allowed me to hold on for all those hours.
The 36# felt smooth compared to other limb models.
I could have broken that record - it started off incredibly well. Too bad we couldn’t solve my physical issue a bit earlier!
Other archers saw the bow's finish, were impressed by design, slimness of the limbs and limb tips !
Nothing moved from start to finish: no loosening, no change in tuning.
Reliability is truly remarkable, and I can definitely say I put the equipment to the test!
Congratulations and thank you again to Uukha for your support and involvement.”

An incredible achievement in support of a great cause
Even if the record wasn’t broken, Philippe accomplished something truly remarkable this weekend, and we are proud to have supported him in this human and sporting challenge.
Well done, Philippe and thank you for your trust.
