Archery limb comparison: Uukha Monolith Carbon vs. laminated limbs
The difference? Our technology.
For nearly 18 years, we’ve been innovating and refining a unique, patented technology: Monolith Carbon.
Even today, while most brands try to work around the limitations of laminated limbs, we know that approach will always remain fragile compared to our one-piece carbon limbs.
But do you really know the key differences?
A structure and design unlike any other
Our monolith carbon limbs
⚙️ They are made from a single block with at least 70% resin-impregnated carbon fiber in their composition - no layering of materials, no foam, wood, or bamboo core.
💡Our technology, fully centered on carbon's properties, alone provides torsional stiffness, stability, lightness, and therefore speed.
💸 Derived from aeronautic engineering, our technology has been adapted and patented for archery, using premium and costly materials designed for peak performance.
Laminated limbs

⚙️ They are manufactured by stacking multiple layers of materials bonded under pressure (foam, wood, bamboo, fiberglass, carbon…), with cores mainly made of foam, wood, or bamboo - each layer intended to bring different mechanical properties to the limbs.
🕯 No innovation has been made with this technology for decades.
💰A relatively low-cost technology and choice of materials for manufacturers.
Performances and feels
Our monolith carbon limbs
⚡️ Carbon fibers we use are extremely thin and ultra-strong: limbs are lightweight and therefore faster.
💪 Without adding weight, we’ve stacked multiple layers of carbon (more than 20!), giving limbs exceptional torsional stiffness without compromising speed for a better grouping on target.
🥰 Carbon absorbs more vibration than any other material used in archery.
Laminated limbs
🪵 Using base materials heavier than carbon reduces speed.
🐢Torsional stiffness and stability are achieved by adding extra materials, which makes limbs heavier and results in less speed.
🫨 Foam and wood… have much lower vibration absorption qualities compared to carbon.
Strength, consistency, and durability

Confidence that lasts through seasons...
Over time, many archers see their laminated limbs lose their edge: they stiffen, twist, or even start to delaminate - no matter how much you paid for them!
At Uukha, we chose a different path.
Our Monolith Carbon limbs support you season after season without weakening: the same smoothness, the same precision, the same strength… year after year.
It’s no surprise that our very first limbs are still widely circulating on the second-hand market - undeniable proof that with Uukha, you’re investing for long run 😉.
…and through the whims of weather.
“My limbs lose power when it’s hot.”
“I have to keep my bow in shade or it’ll get out of tune.”
We hear these comments all the time. And with laminated limbs, it’s true.
Why? Because of their construction technology.
The result: some manufacturers play with colors or coatings that only make the limbs heavier - but fondamental problem still remains.
With Uukha, it’s a different story.
Our limbs are pressed and molded at over 140°C. Which means the sun and heat have no effect on them at all.
Free your mind: you can shoot with full confidence, whatever the conditions! 🌡️💪
