Advices for Uukha products choice and use

Maintenance:

UUKHA products are covered with a varnish PU, use water and soap simply to clean them.

In case of impact having deteriorated varnish, be aware that the composite structure is perfectly waterproof and will not absorb water. To preserve the aspect of your product, you can make a final improvement of varnish.

Tuning:

Brace height:

We recommand to respect the value in a +-10mm range.

Lower the brace height if you focus on speed, increase it for stability and comfort.

SizesBrace height +-10mm
72"232 mm
70"225 mm
68"218 mm
66"211 mm
64"205 mm
62"198 mm
60"192 mm
58"186 mm

Tiller:

Tiller is the difference between the distance top limbs / string and the distance bottom limb string.

For Uukha limbs common settings between 0 and 6 mm are correct too.

String:

The chart indicates the number of strands we advice depending on the weight measured at your draw length and the string material.

Length to obtain adviced brace height*:

LimbsXcurveCurve
70"1700 mm1685 mm
68"1650 mm1635 mm
66"1600 mm1590 mm

* on 25" Upro or UproLite riser (and most of 25" risers).

Arrows:

The Uukha limbs push arrows a steadier way. Therefore, you can choose - with equal power and draw length - more flexible tubes than for laminated limbs. We advice to respect the tables’ indications of the tubes manufacturers, without shifting towards one or two lower spine cell in the table.

Noise, vibrations:

When the bow is correctly set up, the noise is very short and dampened (a bit like a silent gun) . Limbs stop at once with very few oscillations.

If it's not the case:

  1. Check tiller screws are between medium and max setting (the more the better).
  2. Check brace height is what we advice see here.
  3. Use a string made of BCY 8125 or better astroflight (I don't mean other brands don't work but those 2 ones work well).
  4. Last and very important, use a good stab with a good damper and a mass at the end.
  5. Limb saver has never been for us a solution, we have always been able to find a solution with points 1 to 4.

UUKHA products are guaranteed (legal guarantee) against any manufacturing defect. In spite of our controls, if you detect a defect, please contact your retailer.

Top / bottom limb location:

When the bow is in shooting position, the poundage markings must be upside up.

Size choice:
70'': draw length of 29 '' AMO (American Manufacturer Organisation) and more
68'': draw length of 28 '' AMO
66'': draw length of 27 '' AMO and less

(The draw length AMO is the distance in inches between the nock and the Pressure button + 1.75 '') Our limbs are really smooth at the end of the traction, do not choose systematically a higher size, you would lose speed.

Poundage choice:
Each pair of limbs is weighed with the median adjustment of the tiller screws. The corresponding power is marked on the limbs.

Use our calculator to evaluate the poundage at your draw length:

Profit or loss of bow sight scale mark:

Does a profit on bow sight scale mark correspond to a speed profit when we compare two limbs pairs?

Not necessarily: the bow sight scale mark depends primarily on the archer morphology and the position of the nock point compared to the riser with the maximum draw length.

According to the way in which the two limbs top and bottom work, the height of this nock locator can vary.

None of the traditional adjustments (Brace height, tiller) being made at the maximum draw length, there is no reason that the nock point height is the same one with the maximum draw length.

To do a comparative speed test, we know two methods:
  1. Use chronograph.
  2. Compare the bow sight scale mark at 70m and at 10m: the smaller the variation the higher the speed.

Large draw length:
For large draw length (over 31” ), we advise you to choose limbs of 70”.
During our endurance tests, we carry out several ten thousand cycles at 35” draw length, without any breakage.

Limb tip:

It is an integral part of the structure, so it is very strong. Moreover, it is very compact and elliptic for a better air penetration, and a low inertia.

The shape is studied to preserve your string serving: we do not change a string after a endurance test of 30,000 cycles at 35” draw length.

Adaptaters:
They only fit on Uukha limbs.
